In Californië worden vanavond voor de 31ste keer de MTV Video Music Awards uitgereikt. Het is één van de populairste awardshows ter wereld en met de velen artiesten die aanwezig zijn is er ieder jaar wel een relletje of opmerkelijk moment, bekijk de beste hier.
De meeste kans op een MTV VMA vanavond hebben zangeres Beyoncé en de Australische rapster Iggy Azalea, beiden zijn genomineerd in acht categorieën (en Beyoncé krijgt sowieso een oeuvre award). Met 7 nominaties heeft ook rapper Eminem een goede kans met een beeldje naar huis te gaan.
De enige Nederlandse artiest die kans maakt is Martin Garrix. De 18-jarige dj kan de MTV Clubland Award winnen, maar moet het wel opnemen tegen o.a. Calvin Harris en Zedd.
De belangrijkste prijs van de avond blijft toch de Video of the Year. Bekijk de vijf genomineerden videoclips hierboven.
